Portlanders vote 90% Democrat which explains why the City of Roses turned into a cesspool over the last decade.
I am embarrassed to admit that my husband & I lived in the Portland Metro Area for forty-four years. During that time we watched “normal” Democrat politicians seize control of all the instruments of governing. As time went on, Deranged Liberals took over so Portland began to quickly disintegrate, inviting all manner of nasty losers to move into the area. In 2007 these losers joined with local miscreants to form Antifa, the Democrats’ modern-day KKK. They then joined another domestic terrorist group, Black Lives Matter and, by 2016, were spreading fear to residents in every Democrat-controlled city.
In January 2016 we bought a travel trailer and visited national parks throughout the MidWest, SouthWest, and various areas in Washington, Oregon & California the next five years. During our travels, almost every time we mentioned that we were from Portland someone would ask something like “what is wrong with Portland?” Or, “are Portland politicians insane?” Or, some other remark that told us Portland is viewed as sick by the rest of America. But, they don’t know the half of it. Unfortunately, one must live in the Portland Metro Area a year or two to fully understand the misery brought on by Democrats’ increasingly delusional policies.
PORTLAND BUSINESSES INVITED VANDALISM
Business owner, Nat West, promoted violence and defunding of police during the Antifa and Black Lives Matter riots of 2020 & 2021 over & over again on social media including the above where he stated: “We are concerned citizens of Portland, working to defund the police and lift up our Black neighbors.” He does not explain how defunding the police will help ANY neighbor, black, white or green.
Recently, this Delusional Liberal announced he is closing his taproom after suffering significant financial losses since the 2020 riots. The taproom's beverages were a staple in the Marxist city now struggling with surging crime, homicides and business closures following the 2020–21 riots. Losing his business is 100% HIS fault:
"Please smash all my windows if it will be a step toward change," West said in a Twitter post in April 2021, nearly a year after the deadly riots started in Portland. This jackass didn’t explain what “change” he expected. For five months, Marxist domestic terrorists carried out acts of insurrection against the local and federal governments and terrorism against residents through firebombings, explosive attacks, looting, arson, gun violence, assaults, murders, attempted murders, and rampant property destruction. Only a small fraction were ever prosecuted.
The closing of Reverend Nat's Hard Cider follows the closing of the very popular Hotlips, a five-location pizza business. The woke company, which openly supports domestic terrorism, claimed their closures were due to the pandemic* and "labor and economic stresses." Ha! They are pretending the massive increase in all types of crimes, which they promoted, had nothing to do with it! Delusional Liberals are missing the “cause & effect” gene.**
*My law school classmate, Governor Kate Brown, had been trying to destroy small business (which is harder to control & subjugate) her entire tenure. The man-made virus gave her the excuse she needed. Oregon was locked down from March 2020 to April 2022, permanently destroying 70% of small businesses.
**Portland is one of many Democrat-run cities experiencing an exodus of big and small businesses following the 2020 riots. Walmart closed all its Portland locations in March and Nike's iconic community store, in the heart of Portland’s long-established black neighborhood, will not reopen due to theft and public safety issues. Nike asked the mayor, Ted Wheeler, who cheered on the riots, if it could pay for Portland Police to be security. The request was denied due to ongoing police staffing issues stemming from the 2020 riots.
Portland's population has also suffered since 2020. According to Census data, the city lost the sixth-most number of people of any city in the US last year. The decline came after Portland saw 15 straight years of growth.
This sounds just like Seattle. 🥹
when crawly things get out from under stones, two things can be done one of them is to move away
