This is the fourth tale in a series about what it is like for sane Americans to live in cities & states run by insane politicians & voters. Sam has watched the insanity up close for decades:
“People on the right, especially conservative politicians, keep talking about the residents of Democrat hellholes as if they were purely victims of their insane Democrat leaders, leaders who were seemingly visited upon them like a tornado or a plague of locusts. Republicans believe that if their messaging could only be presented to urban dwellers, those dwellers would start voting Republican. Nothing could be more ridiculous. Urban residents elect Democrats who then enact policies that destroy the cities in which the residents live. Democrat leaders then blame Republicans for the problems they themselves created. Rational, intelligent residents would reject such idiocy, but urban populations instead buy into this and subsequently elect more Democrats, who then deliver more of the same.
‘Asylum’ means ‘protection.’ Mental institutions were called asylums because they protected mentally incompetent residents from the outside world. Urban Democrat residents belong in asylums, but unfortunately there are too many of them and they all get to vote. Their derangement is increasing; no amount of urban dysfunction triggers any sort of recognition of the problem. Our only hope, going forward, is to get away from them. Since they tend not to reproduce, their own insane behaviors would ultimately limit their populations, but unfortunately with limitless illegal immigration and the Democrats' limitless power to indoctrinate newcomers, I'd say our future is pretty grim.”
SAINT GEORGE DIED IN MINNEAPOLIS ON MAY 25, 2020
On the third night of the Minneapolis riots, Sam watched television in terror as he realized that the flaming dumpsters were just six blocks from his daughter's house where his three little grandsons lived (ages 2, 6, 8). It occurred to him that the BLM savages might move away from destroying the businesses along Lake Street (the red Xs on this map of Minneapolis show where the rioting, fires & vandalism was taking place) and start torching the residences just west of there. Unable to go to sleep, Sam ended up driving to his daughter's house, arriving at 1:00am, to warn them to get out. He snuck into their house without their knowledge. They were sound asleep and unaware of the danger.
The burning, looting & murdering continued unchallenged for four nights, until President Trump sent in the National Guard on May 29th. Although the massive rioting lasted just days, the looting continued for months. Every business had to post BLM signs or “children live here” in the hope that the terrorists would pass them by. Virtually all businesses along Lake Street, which is 15 blocks long, were boarded up, except for the ones that burnt down.
Much more shocking than the Useful Idiot homeowners with BLM signs in their front yards, were the photos and videos of dozens if not hundreds of business buildings going up in flames.
SAM: “MENTALLY ILL VOTERS ELECT MENTALLY ILL “LEADERS”
Sam lives in a close suburb of Minneapolis and sees delusional postings on NextDoor. Since late 2020 his NextDoor feed is increasingly filled with victims lamenting the crimes that were perpetrated against them. Whether complaining about missing catalytic converters or stolen cars or having been carjacked or robbed at gunpoint, the postings are similar: the person complains about the state of our society, then expresses wonderment that such a thing could happen, and finally expresses great frustration.
Then come the comments, which consist (in order of descending popularity) of: 1) expressions of sympathy for the crime victim, 2) statements about how to be more careful to avoid criminals and crimes, 3) statements rationalizing the behaviors of criminals and sympathizing with them, 4) folks saying, “what is our society coming to?”, 5) statements about how residents are getting what they voted for, and 6) critics reviling those who say that residents are getting what they voted for.
Delusional residents still have Black Lives Matter signs in their yards. They whine ad nauseam about the latest “social justice” poppycock. According to Sam, these folks vote Democrat without even knowing who or what is on the ballot. By and large they know little about elections or candidates, but they do know enough to vote for whoever is endorsed by their favorite party. These residents never connect “cause” with “effect.”
Sam soon stopped carrying anything of value on his trips into Minneapolis, due to the relentless plague of carjackings and robberies. His visits were restricted to visiting his daughter, son-in-law and grandsons. Sam and his wife no longer take advantage of what amenities are left in the Twin Cities. They no longer shop there, attend shows, nor even drive through any unnecessary streets. Since the domestic terrorists were not punished for their crimes in 2020, “normal” crimes escalated, and continue to get worse three years after the riots.
TWO YEARS LATER: “LEADERS” NOTICED THAT THUGS OWNED THE STREETS
With thugs owning the streets and crime continuing to rise, the mayor, a Democrat, finally noticed. In May of 2022, two years after Minneapolis was burnt to the ground by racist thugs, he launched a campaign called Minneapolis Momentum in response to the fact that the downtown is now a ghost town, ruled by fear of the terrible crimes constantly being committed there. Much like Portland, Oregon, the city’s “leaders” were pretending that the city is healthy, when it is dying.
As part of this asinine project, Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey hired a black man named Cedric Alexander at $334,000 a year to be the city's first "Commissioner of Community Safety." Sam could not figure out what on his resume would prompt such a hire at such a salary. When Alexander was, briefly, interim police chief of Rochester, NY almost two decades earlier, crime increased. Today Rochester remains one of the most dangerous cities in America.
Alexander’s formal education is in psychology and he authored a book called, "In Defense of Public Service: How 22 Million Government Workers Will Save Our Republic." Save our republic? Sam calls this delusional. After Minneapolis fired 100% of their "unvaxxed" employees, including police officers, only their relentlessly woke employees were left to “protect” citizens.
Alexander claimed that, under his leadership, he would turn Minneapolis into the safest city in the country. Imagine the stupidity of a population who cannot understand the cause of its own societal collapse (decades of cultural depravity and welfare-state dependency) believing that we've now got "this guy who is gonna fix everything," just in time for the 2022 elections no less. It does not get any dumber than that, but Minneapolis voters ARE that dumb, according to Sam.
After less than a year on duty, Mr. Alexander resigned and nothing has improved. This $334,000 guy resigned because the city would not give him the resources he wanted. Apparently even the mayor who brought Alexander on board couldn't manage that. Sam does have some sympathy: MinneHopeless is a city full of lunatics who hate their police and love criminals. It is not clear to Sam what "resources" could possibly fix THAT.
Minneapolis continues its decline into total lawlessness. The whole thing is so pathetic that Sam does not know whether to laugh hysterically or cry hysterically. Unfortunately, Sam & his wife cannot escape because their three grandsons live there.
Perhaps the best part is the link to another of Diane's articles (in the text 'These residents never connect “cause” with “effect'). I keep posting links to that article in the comment sections following articles and posts containing stories of how DemokkkRAT voters never seem to get the connection. There are so many opportunities.
It’s just a matter of time until America implodes. Want to hasten the demise of America? Vote democrat!
