"Undocumented?"

I still remember the moment a colleague told me I was not allowed to say “illegal aliens.” Tom K., whom I barely knew, demanded I say “undocumented immigrants.” When he arrived at a small, attorneys-only conference with three progressive activists, I knew something was up. He had brought these non-attorneys in order to monitor and direct the discussion, and to intimidate those who were invited to this conference. It worked, we all looked at each other and began carefully choosing our words for fear of being put on some kind of list^ and/or screamed at.

THAT was almost twenty years ago. NOW, the man who purports to be the President of the United States and the Commander In Chief of the most powerful military in the world, has such fear of The Left, the demanding, wildeyed, hateful Left, that his handlers sent him for a scripted, softball interview on MSNBC, to grovel on the altar of DEI, and to change just one word he said during his shouted, angry campaign speech which he called the State of the Union. What word is that? He changed “illegal” to “undocumented.”

“UNDOCUMENTED PERSONS”

This asinine controversy got me to thinking. Why do we, why should we, call illegal aliens “undocumented.” Except for the Gotaways who intentionally avoid US Border Patrol, Biden’s invited guests walk right up to border patrol and/or sign onto the app created by the Biden Regime because they WANT TO BE documented. In order to get their free cell phones, housing vouchers, plane/bus tickets, debit cards, EBT (food stamp) cards, medical care, and numerous other benefits paid for by American citizens, they must be documented by border patrol.*

Granted, many illegals use fake names and fake vital stats such as phoney ages, and almost all lie about their reasons for coming to America, BUT border patrol DOES document them. AND the Biden Regime is in the process of creating “ICE Secure Docket Cards” for those who break our laws every day they stay in America. We must, after all, make Biden’s Guests feel comfortable and wanted.

^By then, the Oregon State Bar had been taken over by Progressives and Marxists who threatened attorneys with discipline if they voiced ideas contrary to the Woke agenda they were pushing. Indeed, Tom K. was actively involved in pushing DEI and, thus, he was rewarded eight years later with the presidency of the Bar. Bar presidents are chosen by the Bar’s ruling elite, NOT by the membership.

*Later on, illegal aliens use their documentation to get EINs so they can continue to receive all manner of tax dollars, such as Earned Income Tax Credits (a form of welfare) when they file tax returns, and Supplemental Security Income which currently is $943 in monthly cash for singles and $1,415 for couples, plus Section 8 housing, Medicaid, food stamps, etc, etc, etc.
