I’m in my late 60s. Grew up in Pasadena, CA. Kid I grew up with, serious prog, when married & they had kids, moved to dark red (then) Orange County, CA. Why? Safe, secure, good schools, etc. Then promptly continued to vote deep blue. Trashes Trump constantly. Was completely convinced about the Russia! Russia! BS that anyone with working brain cells knew was total horseshit (Hilary had JUST SOLD PUTIN OUR URANIUM, for God’s sake - he’d help her OPPONENT?!? That’s serious brain damage right there.) He moved to a place BECAUSE it hadn’t been destroyed by D voters.... and continued to vote D.

Bingo!! I think, deep in their souls, Liberals know their beliefs are horse shit. THAT is why they refuse to discuss or debate their beliefs with anyone who has a different thought.

He trashed his own country (both our dads were WW2 vets) so much that both his daughters now live overseas...

You're right. They have no concept of cause and effect. I see examples of that on a daily basis.

Unfortunately Oregon and Washington politics are decided by those who live in the smallest area of the state. Have no idea what farming is. I was asked once how can you be such a "hick" you grew up next to Portland. Easy what is the scale of the map you are using? My metro is the size of your state. Read the scale... Best was flying from east coast to training ranges in western states. With those who have never been west of the Appalachians. Are those the mountains. No those are the foothills

Ha! Yes, those who have never been "out west" have a different concept of space than we do. The arrogance of many Democrat voters on the Left Coast toward Americans in middle America is beyond disgusting and IGNORANT.

When we moved into the new home we built in Lake Oswego, Oregon in 1975, the city was a bastion of conservative Republicanism. Today it’s a deep blue sea of Democrat liberalism where street people are welcome to spend their days lounging in the public library. Political correctness is strictly observed. LO is on its way to becoming Californicated -- like West Linn.

John: I think LO is way ahead of WL in its decline into Marxist madness. In March 2017 I marched in a pro-Trump rally. LO residents came out in droves, many of whom were elderly, to scream at us, et al. They partnered up with Antifa & BLM thugs with baseball bats, sticks, brass knuckles, etc. We had a permit for a certain route. But, police re-rerouted us to keep us safe. We started and ended in George Rogers Park on State Street. Diane

I remember that Saturday with pro-Trump supporters and protestors separated by State Street. It revealed just how virulent the anti-Trump protestors were. We couldn’t believe it was happening in our home town. Finally the lefties have PC Joe Buck as their mayor following years of free publicity from the LO Review. Whatever happened, Joe Buck was asked to comment. Perhaps the newspaper staff got a discount eating at his Babicka Hen Cafe. I do feel free of the smothering liberal government that now controls LO. They believe they’re safe from the current turmoil because of the high paywall to live in LO, but it’s only an eight mile drive from the Portland shithole, Antifa and BLM rioters -- and they don’t like rich white supremacists.

John: We feel much safer in Oysterville as we watch, via friends left behind, the rapid decline of the entire Portland Metro Area. Diane
