How Will Elon Demolish DC Leviathan?
President-Elect Donald J. Trump has told We The People that he will appoint Elon Musk, genius extraordinaire, as head of “government efficiency commission” which will perform in-depth “financial and performance reviews” across every federal agency. Musk, in turn, has bragged that he can chop the tyrannical, wasteful federal bureaucracy by 80%. Eighty percent!!!
Sounds impossible, doesn’t it? After all, the oppressive, bloated DC leviathan under which Americans have been suffering for generations now, has been built up over the last century, since the 16th Amendment (ratified February 3, 1913) gave the federal government authority to reach into your pocket. Congress by Congress, Senate by Senate and President by President it grew ever bigger, ever more powerful. Its size has made it arrogant enough to arrest parents who criticize their school boards.
ELON AND ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE
Thursday I attended a luncheon of Republican women to celebrate both Trump’s landslide win and the new burst of hope & freedom that washed over each of us when the Electoral College Vote Count reached 270 for Donald J. Trump. The guest speaker, Robert, was an AI expert. He told us that, if allowed, Elon Musk will be using AI technology to replace 80% of the federal workforce. Eighty percent!!!
According to Robert, Artificial Intelligence can replace most jobs now done by paper pushers and those who sit in front of a computer all day. The way he explained it, most “brain” work can be done by AI. The manual tasks of electricians, carpenters, plumbers and lesser skilled workers cannot be replaced by AI.
The federal leviathan grows ever bigger in its quest to control every accept of Americans’ lives. The Biden/Harris Regime claims they created jobs. Yes, they have, and most of the new jobs are federal jobs: 80,000+ in 2023 alone. As of 2023, the Federal Office of Personnel Management claims the number of civilian employees, excluding contract employees, was 2,040,000 million, of which 20% work in and around our nation’s capital. However, Artificial Intelligence says there are between 3,000,000 and 3,007,000 federal employees as of October 2024.^
Cleaning out the swamp does not just mean draining the DC Swamp as most federal employees work in the various states. Can you imagine the burst of freedom We The People would feel when Elon reduces our unelected overlords from 3,000,000 to 600,000? Indeed, we will even save the approximately $8,000,000/year we have been spending for over four years to provide Dr. Anthony Fauci with 24/7 protection from US Marshalls.
DC SWAMP CRITTERS ARE NOT “PUBLIC SERVANTS”
Many federal employees, trust me when I say this, do not see themselves as public servants. They believe the roll of American taxpayers is to provide them with well-paying jobs, regardless the value of their work. My husband and I can attest to that: He worked for a large federal agency in Portland, Oregon and I practiced law in federal court, whose courthouse was in Portland. If federal employees 3,000 miles away from DC have such an attitude, believing they are superior to the average American, how do you think those employed in the belly of the beast view themselves and YOU?
Trump 25 exposed the swamp critters for the arrogant jackasses they are when he moved a pair of science agencies within the US Agriculture Department to Kansas City, Missouri. Half of the employees quit, giving up very secure jobs with great pay and benefits because they did not want to work with & live with the very farmers and ranchers they were regulating. The Trump Administration also moved the Bureau of Land Management to Colorado. In early 2023 the Biden Regime moved BLM back to Washington DC, far away from the land they are supposed to manage. No word whether Biden returned the USDA agencies to DC.
Early in his 2024 campaign Trump announced“We will continue the effort launched by the Trump Administration to move parts of the sprawling federal bureaucracy to new locations outside the Washington swamp . . . And I mean immediately out of Washington to places filled with patriots who love America, and they really do love America.”
Back in the horse and buggy whip days when Newt Gingrich was Speaker of the House, he fought but failed to have the federal government upgrade and modernize government computer systems to improve efficiency. Hopefully, Elon Musk will have more success with President Trump's support than did Newt with President Bill Clinton in charge.
