Regulators are paid off to allow communication companies to rob customers. Comcast put a surveillance service on our account in 2017 which we did not order when they sent us upgraded equipment. We did not notice because the extra fee was hidden inside our cable & phone service. By the time we belatedly noticed it, they had overcharged us $800+ and only refunded four months of fraudulent charges. We cancelled our account, cancelled our landline and switched to DirecTV. The collection agency is still harassing us.
Verizon is too much like Ma Bell back in the day: “We don’t care. We don’t have to.”
I’m glad you finally got this figured out. It seems there is very little accountability to the customer in ANY aspect of business these days.
