Trump: We Will Rename The Gulf of Mexico, The Gulf Of America
In last week’s podcast, my co-guest on George Caylor’s podcast “Get Real” coined the term the “Trump Doctrine” when referring to how Trump is using the bully pulpit to get better passage fees for American ships and to get the Republic of Panama to live up to the agreement they signed with President Carter.
Now, during today’s press conference at Mar-A-Lago Trump announced: “We do most of the work there. It’s ours. We are going to be changing the name of the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America, which has a beautiful ring. That covers a lot of territory.”
The Gulf of America has long been maintained by American taxpayers. The residents of five states enjoy the Gulf’s shoreline: Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi,* Alabama and Florida.
