What is actually worse about this bill are the untrue incidents that will be reported. I was the treasurer of a controversial nonprofit and we got reported to the AG six times for nothing! No truth whatsoever, it was done to make us (me) squirm and spend time defending our nonprofit. The president of the nonprofit was reported to the FBI as a white supremist terrorist and two FBI agents in two black SUV's came to her house and questioned her sons. This bill is a weapon and should be fought in court NOW! File a lawsuit and get it stopped until the lawsuit is resolved. Washington state is officially a banana republic.

We were trying to stop the placement of a MAT clinic in the center of our small town. It was a three year battle that we eventually lost.

So many of these bills have gotten through without the awareness of voters. We are indeed a banana republic & it’s been that way for awhile. This will make people even more resistant to talk openly about anything. Well.. most people. 😂 I’ll have to pull the reigns in of my 83 year old father & his buddies that like to meet for lunch. Otherwise they will spend their last years in a cell. These are all proud Americans, most served in the military fighting for our freedom of speech. How sad is that?!

I like the idea of fighting it in court. It would sure place a large target on your head, but overturning the bill would be worth it. It sounds like U.N. propaganda based. They always have a noble cause ( punishing hate speech), with the actual goal of controlling our speech. ( taking our freedom)

We can’t get our A.G. to punish actual crimes being committed. It’s been a revolving door for many criminals brought in by the police. It’s no wonder many good officers have left our state in disgust. I bet this bill might be the exception. 🙈

Getting the word out is why I write for Substack. It dawned on me this morning that the "expression of animus" in the bill does not have to be knowingly directed at a "protected" person. If such a person overhears some negative remark THAT is all it takes for the police to knock on your door.

You can consider Washington State a "Communist" state. It's exactly like the book "1984".

I agree, Daniel. We haven't gassed up the U-Haul, but we are talking about it.

This bill shouldn't have even made it to the legislature to be voted on its unconstitutional. Let's say a person doesn't like another person or wants to get even with another person then they just accuse them of hate speech or crime and get that person in trouble this will cause many problems! This is just another power and control bill out of Olympia by the democrats and if we can't get a Republican governor and at least one the chambers back this year it will be time to load up the u-haul and move on. More than enough is more than enough of the dictating Marxist garbage from the dems out Olympia!

Yes! Once someone who doesn't like you puts you on this list there is no way to get off it. You are forever stigmatized and will be treated like a second class citizen should you need police assistance in the future or, God forbid, someone else puts you on the list. Here in Pacific County we have a Constitutional Sheriff so I feel confident that he will not act upon these reports when they get to his office. I invited Sheriff Garcia. On May 3rd YOU should ask questions about this bill.

"Let's Repeat Nazi Germany All Over Again!

The Nazis encouraged children especially, to report anything 'suspicious' that they might hear their teachers or parents say and report it to their Nazi youth leader or directly to the Gestapo." - educate-yourself.org

Wherever Hitler, Goering, Himmler and their fellow Nazis are, they must be smiling when they see bills like this.

Gas up the U-Haul? We escaped Oregon in 2020, moved to our beach house in Marxist Washington. Our little community has fewer hate filled Liberals, but state government is a nightmare. We are wondering if we will eventually need to move to our mountain home in the gorgeous Black Hills of South Dakota.
