If you live where the majority of the population is clearly insane and/or brainwashed beyond comprehension, you should stop being surprised by insane behavior. We "conservatives" make it sound as though the insanity is raining down upon helpless people, like some hurricane or plague. We should start acknowledging that the plague IS ITSELF the majority of the adults who live there, folks who either vote for these policies or who implicitly support them by not voting & by not energetically opposing them. The best way to oppose the insanity of the public schools, no matter where you live, is to GET YOUR KIDS OUT.
I don't know about you, but I live near Minneapolis, and I can tell by my neighbors' yard signs and by the political signs & statements of the folks in the city that indeed most of the population has been brainwashed into literal insanity. Here we have a 13-member city council with three bona-fide communists and 10 fellow-travelers, all of whom consistently win elections in landslides. It seems to me that we should start taking notice.

I think it's fine for reporters like you to attend school board meetings for the purpose of reporting on the sheer lunacy, but if you read the second page of my site, you'll begin to understand that nobody is going to fix the public schools. Flipping a school board is at best a temporary relief. The schools rely on an ever-passing parade of parents; the parent activists of one generation either wear out or their kids grow up or both, after which they're replaced by a new generation of naifs. Volunteering to save your community is exhausting and largely unrewarding work, especially when you're up against paid professionals who can work against you 24/7.
