In early 2022 our next door neighbor was in the process of moving from Blue Washington to Red Montana.^ As he was preparing the house for sale, he was also assisting an elderly friend move from Oregon to Arizona, and they could not get a one-way U-Haul truck.
2021 moved from Vancouver, WA to Pacific County. Portland had oozed over the river and into Clark County. If we could sell the house we bought and are still paying off, and move out of this state, I would start packing yesterday! Our property taxes are being threatened to rise again with the hospital bond.

I I liked Clark County. Lived in Vancouver for about 9 years. Had a nice place off Mill Plain in the Heights. The Pacific Northwest has become a very hard area of the US to live in. Economically, politically and in some ways psychologically. I just keep in mind that the grass is not always greener in other states.
I found it amusing that on the U-Haul list, Georgia was designated a "Swing" state. As a Georgia resident, I can assure you that the only way we swing is through massive vote fraud. I believe that our Republican state machine has benefited from this in the past because they refused to do anything about the massive fraud in 2020, even when it was blatantly caught on camera.

We escaped a beautiful, but Looney Liberal burb of Portland because of the riots and moved to our beach house on the Washington Coast. Damn good stack. Definitely correlates with what I’ve seen and read lately. Washingtonians are getting fatigued by the POS that are moving up here. And they are very verbal. When I moved back to Washington from Oregon in 2019, I had a business owner openly complain about too many people moving up here. Needless to say I chose not to hire him; not that I didn’t understand it, but because I believed he needed the economic penalty for being retarded enough to openly bitch to a future customer.
Thank you, Diane. My suggestion is: rent a moving truck from a different company than U-Haul. U-Haul reportedly skimps on maintenance, and there are frequent breakdowns. In my own experience, every time I have seen a moving truck parked at the side of the road, it has been a U-Haul.
I didn't mean to imply that the repugnants were trying to help the demonrats. However, I do believe they knew all about the manipulation that Dominion was conducting on our voting machines, and they wanted that capability for themselves. It may be a stretch, but it is the only way I can rationalize the reaction of Kemp and Raffensperger in 2020. I was pleased to see Raffensperger get thrashed in the primary.
Back in 2001, my husband and I moved from southern California to Chinook WA. We were on a road trip and when he saw Astoria from the WA side by the bridge he fell in love with what he called little San Francisco. We sold, and eventually built with that view from our living room. I downsized to the peninsula but now I wish I would have moved to a red state like Montana or Idaho. At 84, the thought of moving and starting all over is a huge negative. I only have friends in WA and no family.
