WOW. Thanks for a truly eye-opening article. I had never thought about any of this; I knew nothing of the Native American voting in Minnesota, for example, and I live there. It seems to me that Republicans must get off their ivory towers, find out how to appeal to members of the Democrats' coalition, and dismantle that coalition step by step. I got the idea of studying Indians' voting patterns when I noticed that the blue counties in South Dakota were all reservations. The one reservation in Minnesota is at the very, very NE tip of the state, a very small reservation.
