Agreed. Samaritan's Purse, along with the Mennonite Disaster Service (who are also on the ground in NC), were both working in our town for at least a year after we got clobbered by a Cat5 hurricane. They are good people, and they are in it for the long haul. This thing won't be over in a couple of weeks.
Best thing about MDS: they have a LOT of construction workers, and they volunteer to build stuff. You would not believe how helpful that was after our disaster: every local construction crew was booked for months out (and were busy repairing their own houses!), and you couldn't even get on a waitlist. Just weren't enough of them to go around. They replaced a lot of damaged roofs in my county.
All the videos, all the stories from people on the ground, and I continue to hear that FEMA didn’t do any wrong and is functioning well. Stranger yet, in the world of mental pretzels, I’ve even heard a few say that any shortfall FEMA may be having right now is…wait for it…Trump’s fault, that HE stole the money and is storing the supplies in his own warehouses somewhere. Where are the elected Sheriffs? Are all of them corrupt in North Carolina? Go get the sheriff in your county! They can arrest these people for interfering in a rescue operation! We moved from Florida to a northern state and the moving company kept delaying the delivery of our furniture for a month. My husband called the Sheriff in that Florida county and the furniture was delivered in a few days! They have more power than we know.
