My man is in NC with Samsritan’s Purse with thousands of amazing American volunteers doing what true Americans do, pull up your boot straps and help your fellow citizen. Forget the government, they are useless.
Agreed. Samaritan's Purse, along with the Mennonite Disaster Service (who are also on the ground in NC), were both working in our town for at least a year after we got clobbered by a Cat5 hurricane. They are good people, and they are in it for the long haul. This thing won't be over in a couple of weeks.
Best thing about MDS: they have a LOT of construction workers, and they volunteer to build stuff. You would not believe how helpful that was after our disaster: every local construction crew was booked for months out (and were busy repairing their own houses!), and you couldn't even get on a waitlist. Just weren't enough of them to go around. They replaced a lot of damaged roofs in my county.
That is amazing and great info. I have never heard of them. Going to hook my guy up with them. Besides living a chain saw he is a wood worker - this could be a match made in heaven. Thank you!
