The great problem with "democracy" is that avoiding self-imposed tyranny requires an intelligent and informed public. We have neither. The median IQ of the USA is probably 95 or lower, not high enough to be a sustainable independent republic, and it is dropping daily as we import millions of occupants of failed societies, many of which would literally still be in the stone age had they not been colonized. We've stood by stupidly as tyrants have gained control of both academia and our media, which together determine the ideology of both our current and future populations. I really don't see much hope here.

I see now why former generations of leaders had to be so brutal. You are either colonizing or you are being colonized; there is no middle ground. The USA is being colonized, and the Democratic Party is the vehicle of our colonization. Republicans don't seem to understand how dire our situation is, nor do they understand that once we fully lose control, which appears to be happening soon, we are never getting it back.
