I agree with you completely that this useless agency needs to be put down ! I am a retired educator from NJ with 36 years in the classroom. I was under the NJEA and NEA dictatorship, and fought many times as a VP union rep to do what was right for our staff and students. We, as a union, were very successful, and were recognized by our state union representatives as leaders in our methods and results. The Department of Education was nothing more than a money grabbing, power structure to put their "ideas" into the classroom. Way back when, this was not recognized as it is today, but the effect was just the same. So go for it Rep. Massie and put these socialists out of the lives of todays educators and students. We need you...

Ralph: I just now noticed your comment. Thank you! I can't help but wonder what it is like for normal teachers in school districts that force them to teacher CRT, transgenderism, Marxism, et al. It must be painful. We just "flipped" the school board in my community. I will be publishing an article about it this week. Diane

It’s about time. Also stop funding Randi whiner-Weingarten and the teachers union.

The clue is in the sign over the door -- Department of Education. The Democrat inspired Department of Education has proven to be just the opposite of what its name implies. It’s actually a Democrat source for millions in campaign funding and money laundering from the teachers’ unions. Its proper title is Department of Leftist Indoctrination -- and don’t you dare question their devotion to “teaching and education.”

Yes! And the recent, disgusting, new contract between the teachers' union and Portland School District is proof thereof. I will be writing about that shortly.

Amen. Amen. Amen. A retired teacher, I've been saying this for decades. Education is the responsibility of the local communities. The astronomical expenses of the DOE could be better spent locally, in paying less taxes to support the bureaucracy and spending the money on local schools. Mostly itmakes pronouncements that force compliance on local schools. All money from the DOE is tax money from local citizens and comes with strings attached.

Public schools no longer educate. They indoctrinate. The indoctrination is nationwide because of Dept of Ed. Did you read my article in November about flipping the school board?
