James Michael Johnson (R-LA) was elected Speaker of the US House on the first ballot yesterday, with support from every Republican member present, 220. Johnson, Evangelical Christian and staunchly Pro-Life, was first elected in 2016 to represent Louisiana’s Fourth Congressional District, in the northwest part of the state, where he grew up. Johnson, 51, and his wife Kelly, a former school teacher, have four children. One son is black. He was a 12-year-old orphan when the Johnsons first met him through an evangelical youth group.
Speaker Johnson is well-regarded within the Republican caucus for his policy-oriented and principled conservative approach. Among the eight Republicans who vied for the House Speaker position, Johnson stands out as one whose sponsored bills have had the greatest success, with 6.5% becoming law, despite his relatively short time in congress.
NOT AFRAID TO SPEAK THE TRUTH, WILL DEMOCRATS INDICT JOHNSON?
Johnson is a constitutional lawyer who worked for the Alliance Defending Freedom prior to being elected to the House. He used his knowledge of the US Constitution to try to point out the biggest & most obvious presidential election fraud in US history.
Johnson, who became the GOP caucus vice chair in 2020, led the amicus brief signed by more than 100 House Republicans in support of a Texas lawsuit seeking to invalidate the 2020 election results in four swing states where massive fraud occurred: Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.
Johnson’s argument to colleagues was that certain states’ changes to their voting procedures during the Covid-19 pandemic were unconstitutional. In all, 147 Republicans voted to block the certification of Joe Biden electors. In mid-November 2020, Johnson gave a radio interview discussing the 2020 election fraud. He highlights the fraud in Georgia by contrasting Biden’s ballots with Clinton’s ballots in 2016.
HOW WILL JOHNSON GOVERN AS SPEAKER?
After his election on Wednesday, Johnson said there would be none of the typical celebrations that accompany the election of a new speaker. Instead, he moved quickly to bring up a resolution expressing solidarity and support for Israel. His next order of business, he said, would be addressing the country’s “broken border” with Mexico.
“We will stop the socialist agenda, we will control the purse strings, and you will see some pretty vigorous investigations and oversight because that is a really important responsibility of the Congress in our constitutional system,” Johnson stated on a recent podcast.
So far, Johnson's voting record has earned him a lifetime rating of 92% from the American Conservative Union, 90% from Heritage Action and 72% on the John Birch Society’s Freedom Index.
“TRUTH BE TOLD” PODCAST
Want to get to know the US House’s 56th Speaker? Speaker Mike Johnson, along with his wife, Kelly, host a podcast that explores their faith and current events, touching on a wide range of subjects including the congressional effort to expose & correct the fraud during the 2020 presidential election, the Supreme Court’s decision overturning Roe v Wade and the continuing persecution of President Trump. The podcasts offer an extended window into Mr. Johnson's views and politics, as he co-hosts the program with his wife, a licensed pastoral counselor.
The first episode of the program, published in March 2022, was aptly titled, “Can America be Saved?”
“We call this show‘Truth Be Told’ because that’s what we are going to do on this program,” Mr. Johnson said in the opening episode. “We are going to get right to the heart of all these pressing issues and questions. And we will review current events through the lens of eternal truth.”
The podcast has featured numerous guests including Representative Jim Jordan of Ohio, Mr. Johnson’s mentor; Judge Kyle Duncan of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, and some of the Johnsons’ children. After the leak of the Supreme Court’s decision on abortion in May of last year, the Johnsons hosted an episode that explored the “future of life in America,” while also sharing their personal jubilation about the news of the pending decision.
JOHNSON HIGHLIGHTED BIDEN REGIME’S CENSORSHIP PROGRAMS
Listen to this five-minute session during a House Judiciary hearing. On July 26, 2023 Congressman Johnson questioned DHS Secretary Mayorkas regarding his department’s illegal and unconstitutional censorship division: Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA):
Diane: The Biden/Democrat/DOJ/FBI/IRS/DHS lackies and their intelligence services are on him. The police state is alerted. Johnson's a pro-life MAGA America First Republican -- anathema to autocratic Democrats and RINOs.
Sounds like our kind of guy. They’ll get him!!!
Pennsylvania was one of those states illegally changing the election law. Of course the last and the current Governors (Wolf and Shapiro) have refused to correct this malady!
We get ‘em. Fetterman is one of our so-called Senators. Another dope!!
