On December 2, 1823 President James Monroe issued what came to be known as the Monroe Doctrine wherein he warned European nations to stay out of the Western Hemisphere. Two hundred years later the question is: Will Biden allow China to build a military base in Cuba?
The Monroe Doctrine was invoked a number of times over the ensuing decades, most recently in October 1962 when the Soviet Union began to build missile-launching sites in Cuba. With the support of the Organization of American States, President John F. Kennedy, Democrat, threw a naval and air quarantine around the island. After several tense days, the Soviet Union agreed to withdraw the missiles and dismantle the sites.*
ONLY SPYING ON AMERICA, OR SOMETHING MORE DANGEROUS?
Citing current and former U.S officials, the Wall Street Journal reported that China and Cuba are currently negotiating to establish a new joint military training facility in Bejucal, just 100 miles off the coast of Florida. This is almost certain to lead to the stationing of Chinese troops and other security operations from the Chinese Communist Party.
China has been operating a spy base in Cuba since at least 2019, part of a global effort by Beijing to upgrade its intelligence-gathering capabilities in the US, according to an official in the Biden Regime. The official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said the U.S. intelligence community has been aware of China’s spying from Cuba and a larger effort to set up intelligence-gathering operations around the globe for some time.
WHITE HOUSE & CUBA DENY REPORTS
The existence of the Chinese spy base was recently confirmed after The Wall Street Journal reported that China and Cuba had reached an agreement in principle to build an electronic eavesdropping station on the island. The Journal reported China planned to pay cash-strapped Cuba billions of dollars as part of the negotiations.
The White House called the report inaccurate.
“I’ve seen that press report, it’s not accurate,” White House National Security Council spokesman John Kirby said in an MSNBC interview in early June. “What I can tell you is that we have been concerned since day one of this administration about China’s influence activities around the world; certainly in this hemisphere and in this region, we’re watching this very, very closely.”
Cuban Deputy Foreign Minister Carlos Fernández de Cossío also refuted the report in a Twitter post Saturday: “The slanderous speculation continues, evidently promoted by certain media to cause harm and alarm without observing minimum patterns of communication and without providing data or evidence to support what they disseminate.”
WHAT ARE AMERICANS TO BELIEVE?
Can Americans believe anything that comes from this White House? With receipt of millions of dollars from China, where do Biden’s interests lie? Democrats have long held an affinity for Communism. Where do the decision-makers interests lie? Did Tony Blinken bother to discuss this topic when he met with Xi this week?
Why not? That sick regime beats everything good for America. It’s a political carcinogen!
