We have two examples of presidents* who saw the handwriting on the wall and announced they were dropping out of the run for their party’s nomination in late March of election year. Will someone, anyone, take the keys to the White House away from Joe before the Democrat Party has lost all hope of winning in November?
Harry S. Truman, March 29, 1952
In February 1952, Truman’s popularity rating fell to an all-time low of 22 percent. This was due to the unpopular Korean War and price controls. In addition, inflation and joblessness were rising. After being upset in the New Hampshire Democrat primary, President Harry S. Truman announced that he would not run for re-election that fall. He declared: “I have served my country long, and I think effectively and honestly.”
Lyndon B. Johnson, March 31, 1968
Lyndon B. Johnson faced long odds in November. His top aides feared that he might not even win re-nomination due to the unpopularity of his war, the Vietnam War. With his public approval rating at around 36 percent, LBJ had barely survived a surprisingly strong primary challenge from anti-war Senator Eugene McCarthy in the New Hampshire Democrat primary. McCarthy took 42 percent of the vote to LBJ’s 48 percent on March 12. Four days later, New York Senator Robert F. Kennedy, a long-time LBJ nemesis and brother of a very popular assassinated president, declared that he would challenge Johnson for the nomination.
"I shall not seek, and I will not accept, the nomination of my party for another term as your president," he said at the end of his televised announcement.
Joseph Robinette Biden, Jr.
Biden’s approval rating is 39 percent in Gallup’s December poll, up from 37 percent in October. CNN’s December poll found 38 percent of those surveyed approved of Biden’s performance.
November’s national NBC News poll found Biden’s approval rating declining to 40 percent. That compares with Obama’s 46% in December 2011 and Trump’s 44% in December 2019, according to previous NBC News polls. The findings are consistent with other national and battleground-state polls showing Biden’s approval rating in the 30s and 40s, with the lowest being CNBC’s December poll at 35 percent approval and a 59 disapproval.
Diane’s take on Biden’s approval rating: There are two ways to interpret poll numbers THIS high for an Oval Office occupant that has caused so much harm to America and to Americans. Yes, I said “high.” 1) The polls are skewed to make it look as though there are more Americans supporting Biden than there actually are; or, 2) There are actually THAT many Americans who are either indoctrinated Useful Idiots or narcissistic, sociopathic Enemies of the People.
What makes you think they will TELL him? They could build him an office in his home that he can go to every day and let him keep believing he is President.
Obama will continue to run the country while they look for a new puppet to stand in for him.
Democrat hierarchy, probably led by Barack Obama, will have to forcefully remove the corrupt, egocentric, narcissistic Joe Biden from office. The anger he exhibits publicly must be interesting to witness in private without cameras rolling. His entire political life, Biden has dreamed of the power he now owns. Can't see him surrendering it after 50 years of political struggle -- Mein Kamph.
