President Obama awarded him the highest civil service award a federal employee could ever receive during his time working in the Obama/Biden Administration. He served as acting director of the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) from January 30, 2017, to June 29, 2018 during Trump 45. Homan advocates deportation of illegal aliens and opposes sanctuary city policies. In the last several years Homan has been a contributing commentator on Fox News.
