"Every once in a while the stupid party (GOP) and the evil party (DemocRATs) get together and do something that is both stupid and evil. In Washington, that is called bipartisanship."–Erick Erickson

Wow what an excellent article. For years I've been confused by the encroaching Wokeness of our corporations, who ever-increasingly adopt policies that are antithetical to their own interests. How does one seduce corporate America into a web of self-destructive behaviors? Step by step and meeting by meeting, it seems!

Excellent article. It feels like the movements in Russia circa 1910. Manipulation. Meetings are interesting. I've never been to a political meeting like these, but I have been to many corporate meetings. You can turn a meeting around with a few words, like " why would I do that". I don't particularly like meetings, just like your saying, everything is consensus. I was a contractor at a nuclear plant in Arizona, actually I had left as a direct hire and come back as a consultant. I had more freedom. I'd try to ensure that we came to a decision (part of my job) then I'd say i guess we're done here and leave. They had scheduled an hour. They literally did not know what to do.

Yup. That is one way to avoid being subject to the lunacy of large companies' HR departments. "Workplaces to Avoid - if you are White, Male, or Straight": https://daveziffer.substack.com/p/workplaces-to-avoid-if-you-are-white

Parents need to teach their kids about strategy and how to identify when others are using it. In that way, hopefully they don’t end up being tricked and bullied by others. Children are so trusting and Ronald Reagan’s axiom of “trust but verify,” doesn’t seem to work as well as it used to. 😒 I hate to think that it has gotten to where we have to verify before considering trusting someone.

Younger generations in particular have been trained to be sneaking to get what they or "their cause" wants.

OMGosh! No wonder they want to freeload off of taxpayers. They have failed to launch into the real world where they have to provide for themselves. Evil Capitalism, you know. I was just thinking about how Krogers/Fred Meyer’s is closing at Gateway Plaza, Marxist Portlandia and they refused to say why, other than they say they are restructuring the company. Everyone knows that Kroger’s is closing them because they can’t make a profit at that location, due to the high rate of theft. With that in mind, I wonder what will the new system of NYC grocery stores, opened by Marxist Mamdani look like?

Gateway Plaza? Is that on Barbur Blvd?

I thought it would be Barbur because it is an older store. Nope. https://www.oregonlive.com/retail/2025/07/ne-portland-fred-meyer-to-close.html
