New FISA Bill: Forcing Americans To Spy On Americans

While you slept, in the wee hours today 60 US Senators voted to wipe out yet more of your constitutional rights. The federal government can continue spying on American citizens, but they cannot spy on House & Senate members. AND the Reforming Intelligence and Securing America Act forces virtually every American to assist in spying on other Americans. Trust in each other is needed to maintain a civil society. Knowing that, our Overlords have found yet another way to hasten our nation’s collapse. The bill was sent to Biden’s desk where he anxiously awaits this opportunity to further divide American from American.

After this bill becomes law, any individual or company that provides any service whatsoever can be forced to assist the federal government in their spying efforts against Americans. Those who are forced to help the DC Swamp are mandated, under strict penalties, to not tell the target that he/she is being spied upon. Any individual or company who has access to equipment on which communications are transmitted or stored, such as routers, servers, cell towers, etc. he/she can be conscripted into the fed’s spy ring.

Your hairdresser is spying on you: While your hairdresser was cutting your hair, you texted your sister who lives in Australia, thus using her wifi service. Unbeknownst to your sister, the Deep State’s behemoth surveillance operation has targeted her co-worker as a possible terrorist. The feds contact your hairdresser, demanding that she turn over all digital communication you made while in her building going back to when you had your first haircut, possibly years. No doubt, they will also interrogate her to obtain as much information as possible about you. She will be forced to help them as long as they demand, and will be prohibited from telling you. That is all it takes to sweep up your hairdresser into a spying operation to keep an eye on you.

Turning homeowners into spymasters: When a plumber comes to your house to repair a leaky pipe, make him leave his cell phone and computer in his truck. If, while he is in your home, he texts or emails someone living abroad, YOU the homeowner, like a deer in the headlights, may find yourself conscripted into a federal spy ring for years to come.

IMPORTING TERRORISTS, SPYING ON AMERICANS

While the Biden Regime is escorting known terrorists across what is laughingly called out southern border, the House & Senate has reauthorized, with minor changes, the DC Swamp’s unconstitutional authority to spy on Americans on American soil. The Reforming Intelligence and Securing America Act extends for another two years the federal government’s ability to spy on foreigners located abroad even though the process unconstitutionally sweeps up communications of American citizens they are in contact with.

“This is not a clean reauthorization of the existing bill. This is a reform bill which corrects many of the problems that we’ve experienced with Section 702,” Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas), a member of the Senate Intelligence Committee, noted on the floor Friday.

The bill targeted some of the FBI abuses of the 702 database by drastically culling who can approve a query, winnowing that figure from around 10,000 down to just 550. It also enacts an after-the-fact audit of any queries involving an “U.S. person” (Notice how the bill doesn’t call us “American citizens.”) and enhances the civil and criminal penalties for anyone found to be misusing the tool (wink, wink, nod, nod).

The Privacy and Civil Liberties Oversight Board, which is an independent US government board, reported in 2023 that the FBI alone searched Section 702 databases for information on Americans nearly five million times over three years.

CODIFYING SPECIAL STATUS FOR RULING ELITE

Members of the House and Senate are given special status in this legislation. Before a FISA search is done on them without a warrant, they will be notified and must consent. If they do not consent, under this bill, federal spy agencies will be required to cancel the surveillance on them.

Even the American Civil Liberties Union, which has had a big hand in destroying, not enhancing our freedoms, objects to special protections for the Ruling Elite which America’s ever-growing serfs will not have. In a letter to House lawmakers last week, the ACLU said those who vote for the bill would be “voting to provide themselves with special privacy rights that do not apply for other Americans.” “However, this requirement should apply to all Americans and not just members of Congress.”

Congressman Thomas Massie (R-KY) said at the Rules Committee hearing: “That’s for you, Mr. Member of Congress. If you are going to be targeted in this database, if we’re going to search for you or your house or your home address or anything like that, or your phone number, we’re going to notify you — but we’re not going to do that for the rest of America. I think that’s wrong. I think we all deserve protection under the Constitution.

The FBI would notify a House or Senate member who is the subject of a search conducted by the agency using a search term that is “reasonably believed to be the name or other personally identifying information of a member of Congress.” Congressional leaders, along with the chairs and ranking members of the congressional intelligence committees, would also be notified under the bill.

OBAMA TURNED FISA ACT AGAINST AMERICANS

The Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act of 1978, which was greatly expanded in 2008, was first turned against Americans by the Obama Administration. And, in 2016 Obama used it to spy on Trump’s Campaign, Trump’s advisors and, ultimately, on members of his administration. Section 702 of the Act allows the federal government to collect digital communications of foreigners located outside the country. It also sweeps up the communications of Americans and allows our various spy agencies to search through data without a warrant, using information such as an email address.
