The Biden Regime has many tools for stopping the abuse of our Jewish neighbors, but they are too worried about the Muslim vote in 2024. I joined with two biblical scholars to continue our discussion of the anti-Semitism that has exploded since the slaughter of Israelis on October 7th. “Tea With George” Podcast hosted by George Caylor, with Professor Stephen Putney, was taped in George’s studio in Lynchburg, VA. on 12/14/23. I am at a loss to understand the attitudes of conservatives discussing the Israeli Hamas conflict. Conservative speakers and writers imply that Jews in the USA are under terrible threat from the Democrats' open-border policy and from college students and presidents on campuses where Democrat professors outnumber Republicans 9 to 1. Strangely absent from these conversations is the fact that Jews are predominantly Democrats who tend to be in leadership positions, and further that they tend to be among the most radical of Left-wing Democrats.
First, let's stop lumping all Jews together. There are multiple self-identified sects: "Reform" vs "Conservative" and "Orthodox". The politics of Conservative and Orthodox Jews resemble those of conservative Christians, while Reform Jews are generally atheists who identify only ethnically as Jews and who vote 70% Democrat. At 35% of the Jewish population, "Reform" Jews are the largest sect by far, and in my opinion they probably drag along another 35% who don't identify with any sect, so in reality they constitute maybe 70% of all Jews in the USA, and they seem to be by far the most politically active and vocal.
Non-conservative Jews inordinately occupy positions of power in government, academia, and industry, and are to some great degree responsible for the secularization and far-Left drift of the entire U.S. population. Beyond being over-represented in positions of power and cultural influence (thereby exemplifying the white systemic racism they claim to despise), they are generally among the most radically hard-Left members of any organization. In 2019, Congress was "three times as Jewish" as the USA, holding six percent (34) of its 535 seats despite all Jews being only 2% of the general population. Who are these members? Think Bernie Sanders, Chuck Schumer, Debbie Wasserman-Schulz, and Adam Schiff. In 2019, all ten Jewish senators were Democrats, as were 22 of the 24 House representatives. Are you worried about Hamas campus activity, especially in the Ivy League? According to Dr. Seymour Martin Lipset, himself a Harvard professor who was presumed an expert in this subject, 25% of all Ivy League professors are Jewish. I could get into the extraordinary presence of Jews in our entertainment industry and their fantastically Left-leaning orientation, but this is turning into an article and I don't want to write that article.
I am ethnically one-quarter Jewish myself, I've had many fully Jewish friends through life, and I'm by no means antisemitic. I went to school in Buffalo with lots of Jews (including roommates and housemates) from NYC, so I've been somewhat inside the culture. They are overrepresented in positions of power and influence because they work hard and they have an achievement-oriented mentality, both of which I admire. I suspect that they gravitate heavily toward the Democratic Party because it is the secular party of atheists that is reducing the Christian influence in what was formerly a predominantly Christian nation, and of course Jews have precedents for suffering horrible discrimination under ostensibly Christian populations. But their allegiance to the Democrats has a price, and they, along with the rest of us, are paying that price. If American Jews want to see who has been largely responsible for admitting Hamas sympathizers to both the USA and Europe, and for Hamas sympathizers controlling the administrations and students on U.S. campuses, they need look only in the mirror.
Don’t count on Hamas being less “anything”. They are Muslims. You and I are Kafirs. Equally in their crosshairs as Jews. Civilization Jihad is old as history. It’s here in our midst. Creeping every day. When chaos and lawlessness reigns your local LEO’s will be home defending their own families. I get the police state. But Islam far out terrorizes this former Republic than my local police. Arm up.
