This month, a Palm City resident, John Rourke, made his third trip from South Florida to the Texas-Mexico border. "It's just gotten to a point to where it's out of control now down there," he said. Rourke, an Army veteran who has served in Iraq and Bosnia, owns a moving company in Jupiter, FL. He's a husband and father of four children. He headed to the Texas-Mexico border to bring back dogs that have been abandoned by foreign nationals who've come across the Rio Grande River and entered the U.S. illegally.
Rourke says he first noticed all the dogs running loose in Texas when he made several visits to the border to pick up wet clothing and trash left at the border by foreign nationals. "In the majority of the cases they let the dogs go and most of them are not spayed or neutered," Rourke explained. He says after the illegals cross into the United States, they're not allowed to keep their dogs in the temporary facilities in Texas set up to house them, so often they let the dogs loose.
"It's really a public health crisis because no community should have hundreds of dogs or thousands of dogs running through the street. We just kinda try to go to those areas and scoop the dogs up," Rourke said.
Rourke was in Texas in January, too, rescuing dogs with Big Dog Ranch Rescue, a local non-profit group from Loxahatchee Groves. He’s partnering with them again. This time, they’re sending a bus to Texas. The dogs will be brought to Alabama for quarantine, then eventually to Palm Beach County for extra medical care. Adoption and finding good homes for the dogs is part of the goal.
"This is sad. This is not fair to these dogs what they're going through out here," said Lauree Simmons, founder of Big Dog Ranch Rescue during the trip to Texas in January. Rourke says they got 94 dogs on the trip to Texas in January. On his February trip, they hope to get about 40 more dogs.
"There's just dogs everywhere. Stray dogs, stray cats. All over the streets, on every street corner, in every parking lot. I do this because it's the right thing to do because I love animals. I love this country and I just didn't realize until I went down there and saw it first hand how many dogs and the condition that the dogs are in. Someone has to do something. It's awful. If you have a heart you want to do something, right? Like you've gotta do something if you can," Rourke explained.
Big Dog Ranch Rescue says the 94 dogs that were rescued from Texas in January will be ready for adoption sometime next week. And the dogs they get on this current trip will be available in about three weeks.
LAUREE SIMMONS STARTED DOG RESCUE MISSION AT BORDER
In November 2022 this writer first became aware that dogs were dying on the Texas-Mexico border due to the heartlessness of Biden’s invited guests. I watched Lauree Simmons on the Tucker Carlson Show explaining how the National Guard had reached out to her and another organization to help these abandoned dogs. When Ms. Simmons went to the border she was shocked by how many starving dogs there were.
As CEO & founder of Big Dog Ranch Rescue, she expected an additional 50,000 dogs would be abandoned in the 12 months after Title 42 expired in May 2023. Unfortunately, she was right.
NOTE: The Texas National Guard asked her dog rescue organization for help, NOT the Biden Regime. Homeland Security Secretary Mayorkas (AKA “the border is secure”), who has been in charge of escorting illegal aliens across the border since February 2, 2021, doesn’t give a rat’s ass that thousands of dogs are starving DUE TO HIS ACTIONS
ILLEGALS AND THEIR DOGS
Biden’s Guests bring larger (40-80 pounds) dogs with them on their trek* from South or Central America as protection. As they hide from various law enforcement agencies along the way, these dogs bark to warn them that someone is approaching. The dogs also fight off would-be assailants.
As these foreign nationals approach the border, and are about to turn themselves over to US border patrol** they abandon these helpless dogs. American taxpayers will protect and support the illegal aliens for the foreseeable future, so these dogs are no longer needed. I assume that most of these dogs were not family pets when the illegals resided in their home countries. Chihuahuas don’t make good guard dogs! Ha!^ Likely, each group of illegals obtained each dog just prior to starting their journeys.
ON A MISSION TO SAVE DOGS LEFT AT THE BORDER: “It’s a huge problem.”
Lauree Simmons told host Tucker Carlson the National Guard reached out to her and another organization, but when she arrived, she was shocked by how many starving dogs there were.
“It’s a huge problem,” she said. She visited Eagle Pass, Texas for the first time back when the media was still hiding the massive numbers who were crossing there, and saw hundreds of starving and abandoned dogs.
“[They were] left to fend for themselves from illegal immigrants that cross the border with their dogs. Then they get on busses and just leave them behind,” she said. “These dogs can’t survive on their own.”
“This couldn’t come at a worse time. Shelters throughout the country are overflowing everywhere,” she said. Due to the massive inflation intentionally created by the Biden Regime, Americans are forced to choose between feeding & housing themselves OR feeding their dogs. According to Simmons:
“Owner surrenders are up 60% throughout the country because people are having to make the hard choice of whether to feed their families or fill up their car with gas and heat their homes or give up their dog. They just can’t afford to care for them.”
*Many illegals don’t need dogs. They fly into a Mexican airport and take a taxi or bus to the border. There, they walk across the border with their suitcases, wearing their expensive clothes (they are NOT poor & downtrodden).
**Within days of the 2020 presidential election foreign nationals all over the world accepted Biden’s invitation to come and live in America, most at the expense of the American people.
^Go ahead, call me “racist.” Watching both Americans and dogs suffer because of the Biden Regime, I am entitled to fight off the heartbreak with some humor. If you are offended, don’t read my articles.

Biden treats dogs the same way he treats taxpayers — with contempt.
Another thing Biden is good at….starving dogs!
