A VERY UNIQUE COUPLE

Practicing Law Is Not Glamorous

Suffering through the Era of Biden, where Democrat hatred for Americans becomes more obvious everyday, we must find ways to laugh or we will surely go mad.  I practiced law for 34 years and met a wide variety of people.  I found that, after handling over 7,000 legal cases, I remember just two types:  1) Cases with unusual facts and 2) Those with unusual people.  Allow me to share the lifestyle of this unusual couple with you.

In handling family law cases this writer sometimes learned more about a client’s sex life that I cared to know.  Indeed, occasionally I had to stop a client in mid-sentence, telling him or her that I did not need to know the DETAILS of how the child was conceived.  The court would not be interested, and I CERTAINLY wasn’t!

However, the most unique couple I ever met came to see me about filing a bankruptcy.  At the first appointment this married couple arrived with four children in tow.  The oldest was age 7 and the youngest was a newborn baby.  The husband made a very good income as a supervisor for Comcast; but he foolishly let his wife “manage” the finances.  She stopped paying the mortgage some months earlier so they were facing foreclosure.

Two weeks later they returned because the wife’s car had been repossessed for lack of payment.  As we discussed their options, the wife turned to her husband, telling him it was his decision whether to pay all past due payments in order to get HER car back.  She further told him that HE would be riding the bus to work because SHE would be driving HIS car.

When they arrived at the bankruptcy hearing the husband was wearing clothing that suited the rainy, windy, cold February day.  The wife was wearing short shorts that were way too small for her girth.  She was unable to button the waistband, allowing her pink panties to bulge forward in a V shape down to her crotch.  Those is the room were also treated to a roll of bare flesh between her undersized T-shirt and the waistband of her panties.

Their final appointment was the most interesting, however.  THIS was when I learned just what a unique marriage these two had:  The newborn baby was sired by the wife’s boyfriend, AND the husband knew it long before the birth.  After working 10-hour days, the husband spent most evenings feeding and caring for the kids, including the baby, WHILE HIS WIFE SPENT HER EVENINGS WITH HER BOYFRIEND.

When I mentioned this to my 20-something law clerk she asked “what does the husband get out of this marriage?”  Good question.
